Many people have the habit of cutting their nails into a rounded shape or cutting them "close to the skin," which actually increases the risk of nails embedding into the nail bed, causing pain and inflammation.

The correct way to trim nails is to cut them straight down and leave about 1mm of white nail edge. This, combined with daily care, will help maintain healthy nails.

Correct nail trimming steps (flat trimming)
Step 1: Use nail clippers to cut the tip of your finger into a straight line. Do not cut it into a triangle or arc shape. The tip should protrude slightly from the fingertip, leaving about 1mm of white part.

Step 2: Trim off the sharp corners on both sides slightly, and then use a file to smooth the edges to avoid leaving sharp corners that may scratch the skin or snag socks and shoes.
